Custom Hoodies With Company Logo: Placement, Method, Timing

October 29, 2026

The company hoodie your team will actually wear is a soft midweight fleece with a simple embroidered mark on the left chest.

Straight to it

For custom hoodies with company logo, pick a midweight fleece people already like, put a simple embroidered mark on the left chest, collect sizes by name, and approve the proof by Friday, November 20 for a December 18 hand out. Logo on stock hoodies runs 7 to 10 business days from proof approval.

01Why most company hoodies never leave the drawer

Because someone bought the cheapest blank and spent the whole meeting on the logo. People wear a hoodie for how it feels, not for what is printed on it.

A thin, boxy hoodie with a giant logo ends up in a gym bag. A soft, midweight hoodie with a clean mark is the one people grab on the way out the door, so your logo goes to the coffee shop, the kids' game and the airport.

Fabric weight and fit decide which one you get. Hold the blank before you approve anything. Check how the hood sits and whether the cuffs and hem keep their shape. We sweat the same details on the hoodies and layers in our PILLAR men's line. A hoodie that feels good gets worn, and a hoodie that gets worn does the branding for you.

02Embroidery, screen print or DTF on a hoodie

For a team gift, embroider a small mark on the left chest. It reads like a gift instead of a giveaway, and it holds up to washing.

Screen print earns its spot when you want a big chest or full back graphic across a larger run. DTF transfers make sense for full color art, gradients, or a small run where hoodies carry different names or designs. We offer all three at PILLAR Prints & Embroidery, so the choice comes down to the art and the run size.

Nobody keeps a hoodie for the logo. They keep it because it is the softest thing in the closet.

03Where the logo goes on custom hoodies with company logo

Left chest, sitting below the hood opening and clear of the drawcords. That spot looks right on every body type and never fights the hardware.

The hood opening drops lower than a crew neck, so a left chest mark sits a little lower than it would on a polo. Your proof shows the exact placement, size and thread colors before anything gets stitched.

Center chest works for a larger mark if you are fine with cords swinging across it. The hood itself and the pouch pocket are awkward. The hood has a center seam and curves around the head. The pocket has openings on both sides and a seam across the top, so a logo there puckers or gets cut off. For a second mark, use a sleeve hit or the back neck.

Fleece also changes the art. Small text and hairline details sink into the deep pile and disappear. Keep the mark simple and bold, and drop the tagline. Our stitch count post covers what fine detail does to a logo.

04Size it for a shirt underneath

Collect sizes by name, and tell people the hoodie goes over a shirt. Plenty of them will want a size up.

Guessing a size run from a headcount is how you end up with nine extra smalls. Send a sheet with two columns, name and size. If people are unsure, point them to a short read on how a hoodie should fit and let them choose. A hoodie over a polo needs room in the shoulder, and a snug one gets left on the hook.

Collecting by name also lets us pack every hoodie by size and name, so hand out takes minutes instead of an afternoon sorting a pile.

05What the embroidery costs on a company hoodie

Embroidery is priced per piece by quantity, decoration only, and the hoodie is quoted separately.

Here is our published shirt column; your quote confirms the tier for the hoodie you pick. Standard embroidery covers up to 6,000 stitches, which handles most left chest logos.

QuantityEmbroidery per piece
1 to 8$10.75
9 to 23$8.50
24 to 47$7.25
48 to 71$6.00
72 and up$5.25

Add ons that come up on hoodies

  • New logo setup$35 one time
  • Stitches over 6,000$1.00 per 1,000
  • 3D puff$2.00 per item
  • Metallic thread$1.25 per garment

Setup is paid once. We keep the file on record, so next year's reorder skips it. The full list lives with our published embroidery rates. Screen print and DTF depend on the art, ink colors and run size, so those numbers come back on your quote along with the hoodie price.

06Timing for a December hand out

For a Friday, December 18 hand out, approve your proof by Friday, November 20. Treat every date below as a target with cushion built in, not a delivery promise.

7 to 10business days from proof approval, logo on stock hoodies
45days door to door, about, for fully custom pieces

The first clock covers logo embroidery on stock hoodies, and it starts when you approve the proof, not when you first email us. The second clock is for pieces built from the fabric up, with your own fabric color, your cut and a woven neck label. Production alone runs 30 to 35 days, and we confirm the timeline on the first call before anything is ordered. Too long for this December, a strong fit for a spring program.

The count back for December 18

  1. Friday, December 18: hand out day.
  2. Friday, December 11: hoodies in hand, a week of cushion.
  3. Friday, November 27: the latest approval that still lands 10 business days before December 11.
  4. Friday, November 20: the approval date to aim for, since November 27 is the day after Thanksgiving.
  5. The week before that: logo file, hoodie color and sizes by name in our hands, so the proof goes out early.

Running behind? Rush is available upon approval, and your quote will say what is possible. For the rest of the season, check our holiday order calendar.

07Turn a hoodie into a gift

Pack it by name and pair it with one more piece. That is what makes a hoodie feel like a gift instead of a uniform.

Every order is packed by size and name, so a manager can hand each person their own. That is the idea behind employee gifts packed by name. If the budget stretches, add a beanie to go with it, stitched from the same file so the set matches.

Insert cards and branded packaging belong to fully custom work, so they suit the spring version of this program more than the December one. And if the hoodie lands well with a team already in polos, read our take on adding a cold weather layer to a company polo program.

08Hoodie questions we hear every fall

How much do custom hoodies cost?

Embroidery is priced per piece by quantity. On our published shirt column it starts at $10.75 for 1 to 8 pieces and drops to $5.25 at 72 and up, plus a $35 one time setup for a new logo. The hoodie itself is quoted separately, and your quote confirms the tier for the hoodie you pick.

Is embroidery or screen print better on a hoodie?

For a small left chest logo on a team gift, embroidery. It reads premium and holds up to washing. Screen print fits a large chest or back graphic on a bigger run, and DTF transfers suit full color art and small mixed runs.

Where should the logo go on a company hoodie?

Left chest, below the hood opening and clear of the drawcords. Center chest works for a larger mark. Skip the hood and the pouch pocket, where seams and openings get in the way, and use a sleeve hit or the back neck for a second mark.

Is there a minimum order for custom hoodies?

No. There are no minimums, so you can order one hoodie for a new hire or a full team run. We keep your logo file on record, so a reorder starts from the same proof.

When should I order hoodies for a December hand out?

For a Friday, December 18 hand out, aim to approve your proof by Friday, November 20. Logo embroidery on stock hoodies runs 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, and those dates are targets, not a delivery promise.

What about a fully custom hoodie in our own fabric color with a woven label?

Bring it to the first call. Fully custom work, built from the fabric up with your own fabric color, cut and woven neck label, runs about 45 days door to door, and we confirm what can be built and the timeline on that call before anything is ordered. It fits a spring program better than a December gift.
