Custom All Over Print Polos: How a Company Pattern Is Built

October 26, 2026

A company pattern polo is a design job before it is a garment, and the calendar runs in that same order.

In short

Custom all over print polos for a company are built, not bought. The pattern is drawn as an original repeat in your brand colors, printed onto fabric or custom cut panels, and sewn into a polo cut and fabric you choose, with the logo embroidered and woven neck labels if you want them. Plan about 45 days door to door for fully custom, with production alone at 30 to 35 days, confirmed on the first call. No minimums.

01

What custom all over print polos actually are

All over print means the pattern covers the whole garment, seam to seam. A printed logo sits in one spot on a shirt that was already finished. On an all over print polo the fabric itself carries the design before a single seam is sewn.

Route one: sublimation on performance fabric

Sublimation uses heat and pressure to bond ink into polyester fibers, so the print becomes part of the fabric instead of a coating on top. Sublimation on performance polyester is the natural fit for staff on their feet all day.

The tradeoff is chemistry. Sublimation works on polyester, not cotton, and because the ink is a dye rather than a paint, light grounds show the print best.

Route two: printed panels before sewing

The second route prints the pattern onto custom cut panels, the flat pieces that become the front, back, sleeves and collar. The panels are then sewn into the polo. That gives you control over where the repeat lands at each seam and across the placket.

Either way you end up with a polo nobody else owns. That is the difference between this and the stock custom polos for teams and events with an embroidered logo.

02

Your pattern is the real brief

The pattern decides everything else, so it comes first. Only original repeat patterns are printed: art your company owns or art drawn for you from your own brand. Never somebody else's work with the colors swapped.

A good repeat starts with brand pieces you already have. Icons from your identity system. A monogram. A line drawing of your product, your building, your course or the place your guests are visiting. Those pieces get arranged into a tile that repeats in every direction. Scale matters. Too large and the polo looks like a costume. Too small and it reads as texture.

For a homebuilder, we made an all over pattern of tools and hard hats in the brand colors, printed onto custom cut panels, with the company monogram embroidered before the garments were sewn. Stitching the flat panel keeps the monogram square to the pattern. If you want to understand what drives the stitch count on a monogram like that one, the logic is the same on a panel as on a shirt.

03

Lock the color before the collar

Color matching to your brand standards is the step that makes or breaks a pattern program, and it happens before anything is produced. Every order gets a proof showing placement, size and colors before production. On a pattern polo that proof covers the repeat, its scale, the logo position and the ink colors.

Sampling and approval are a decision step that belongs to you. You compare the sample to your standards and approve it or ask for a change. We do not promise a set number of rounds, because that depends on how quickly your side decides.

Lock the pattern and colors before anyone argues about collar shape. A pattern still moving while the cut is debated drags the whole schedule. Fix the art, fix the colors, then talk about fit.

With a stock polo, the color, fabric and fit belong to the blank maker, who can drop it next season. With a fully custom build, the spec is yours. Over at PILLAR we wrote about owning the spec instead of renting a blank, and the argument applies twice over when the fabric itself carries your pattern.

Nobody remembers the collar. They remember the pattern from across the tent.

Counting 45 days back from February 8

A fully custom pattern polo runs about 45 days door to door, so the start date is set by your event, not by when the idea comes up. Our fully custom apparel timeline is confirmed on the first call, before anything is ordered, and production alone takes 30 to 35 days of that.

Take a real date. The 2027 WM Phoenix Open is scheduled for February 8 to 14 at TPC Scottsdale. Any company hosting guests in Scottsdale that week can use it as a calendar example.

Count 45 days back from Monday, February 8, 2027 and you land on Friday, December 25, 2026. Christmas Day. Count 60 days back and you land on Thursday, December 10, 2026. Today is Monday, October 26, 2026, which leaves 105 days until February 8. These are count back targets, not promised delivery dates.

So a fully custom program for that week has to be decided and underway before the holidays, in early December or sooner, with pattern, colors and size run approved. Rush is available upon approval, but it should not be the plan.

December is crowded for another reason. Holiday orders fill the same weeks, which is why we published the holiday order calendar for gift buyers. Starting in November keeps you out of that traffic.

If your team is still weighing a custom build or decorating stock, settle that first. The two clocks are very different.

05

One event drop or a standing program

Decide early whether this is a single event drop or a recurring staff program. A one time drop is built around a date and a headcount. A standing program is built around consistency, so next spring's polo matches this winter's.

We keep reorder files on record: pattern, color standards, logo files and spec. A reorder starts from the approved version, which keeps a second run from drifting a shade off the first.

Mixed men's and women's fits are part of the spec. A women's cut is a different pattern piece, and the repeat is placed on it with the same care. We hold every custom build to the same standard we hold our PILLAR men's polos to: fit first, and nothing on the shirt that does not need to be there.

The same goes for the women's polos at PILLAR, cut as their own garment rather than a smaller men's polo.

With no minimums, a program can start small: hospitality staff first, sales team next season, same file each time.

06

Before you commit to a pattern run

Is there a minimum for custom all over print polos?

No. There are no minimums on custom all over print polos. A small staff run and a large event order go through the same build process, with the same proof and the same approval steps.

How long do all over print polos take?

A fully custom all over print polo takes about 45 days door to door, with production alone at 30 to 35 days. The timeline is confirmed on the first call before anything is ordered. Rush is available upon approval.

Can the pattern match our brand colors?

Yes. The pattern is drawn in your brand colors and matched to your brand standards. You approve a proof showing placement, size and colors before production, and you approve the sample before the full run.

Can you embroider a logo on an all over print polo?

Yes. A logo or monogram can be embroidered on the panels before the polo is sewn, which keeps it square to the pattern. Chest crests, sleeve hits and tonal or metallic heat transfer are also options.

What fabric works for sublimated polos?

Sublimation works on polyester, which is why performance polyester is the natural fit for a sublimated polo. The print bonds into the fiber, and light grounds show the pattern best.

Can we reorder the same pattern next year?

Yes. Reorder files are kept on record, including the pattern, colors, logo files and spec, so a reorder starts from the approved version and matches the first run.

Bring the brand, not the blank

Your brand already has a pattern in it. Let us draw it out.

Send the brand guide, the headcount and the week your guests arrive. We will confirm the fully custom timeline on the first call.
