Embroidered Golf Towels With Logo: The Gift That Gets Used
Embroidered golf towels with logo are the client and tournament gift we would order this winter, because a towel stays clipped to the bag and gets used on every shot.
Pick a towel with a flat or velour face and a clip or grommet, put a compact, bold logo in the corner that shows when it hangs, and approve the proof by Friday, November 20 for a Friday, December 18 hand out. Decoration comes off our published embroidery prices plus $1.25 per towel, with no minimums.
01Why a golf towel beats another logo ball
Because it gets used. A golfer wipes the grips, the clubface and the ball on every hole, so the towel stays on the bag from the first tee time in November until the heat comes back in May. Your logo rides along the whole way, in the cart barn, on the range and in the parking lot.
Logo balls are fine. They are also gone in a round or two, usually into a lake or a wash. Hats and polos are great gifts, but sizing them for a client list takes guesswork. A towel fits everyone, ships flat and does not care what size anyone wears.
Arizona timing helps. Winter is when the courses here fill up, so a towel handed out in December gets its heaviest use right away. If you want a bigger box, we wrote up the golf gifts we would pair with it at PILLAR.
The ball is gone by the third hole. The towel is still on the bag in April, logo out.
02Pick the towel before you pick the logo
The towel decides how good the embroidery looks, so choose it first. Our opinion: a flat, tight surface stitches cleanest, and deep loops swallow small detail.
Weave
Waffle weave is light, dries fast and looks sharp, and its grid gives the stitches a firm base. Velour has a sheared, flat face on one side, which is one of the best places on any towel for a logo. Terry is the classic thirsty towel, but tall loops can bury thin lines unless the design is built for it. Many terry towels have a flat woven border band, and that band is a good home for a logo too.
Fold and hardware
A tri fold towel hangs neatly from the bag and shows one clean panel, which makes placement easy to plan. A flat towel gives more room to work with but hangs looser. For hardware, a clip or carabiner is the easiest for players, a grommet holds up well, and a simple loop keeps things minimal. Pick the one your golfers will actually use, then plan the logo around how the towel hangs.
03Where to put a logo on a golf towel, and how big
Put it in the corner that faces out when the towel hangs folded from the clip. That is the spot people see from the next cart, so that is where the logo goes. On a tri fold, it is usually the lower panel. On a towel with a grommet, it is the corner opposite the hardware.
Keep the logo compact and bold. Heavy shapes and thick letters read clearly on pile. Thin type, small taglines and fine outlines sink into the loops and come out fuzzy. If your mark has a full version and a simplified badge, send the badge. We prep the stitch file for the towel it is going on, and the proof shows placement, size and thread colors before anything runs.
Stitch count matters here too. A dense fill can feel stiff on a soft towel, and fine detail packed into a small area does not hold. Here is why a dense logo gets lost in towel pile, and how we keep it clean.
04What embroidered golf towels with logo cost to decorate
Decoration runs off our published embroidery price list, plus $1.25 per towel, plus a one time $35 setup for a new logo. The towel itself is quoted separately. Your quote confirms which column the towel falls in.
Logo embroidery on stock towels, from proof approval.
Per piece, on top of the embroidery price below.
Towels add $1.25 per piece
| Quantity | Shirts column | Hats and bags column |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 8 | $10.75 | $13.25 |
| 9 to 23 | $8.50 | $10.75 |
| 24 to 47 | $7.25 | $8.50 |
| 48 to 71 | $6.00 | $7.50 |
| 72 and up | $5.25 | $6.25 |
Per piece, standard embroidery up to 6,000 stitches. Stitches over 6,000 add $1.00 per 1,000. Setup for a new logo is $35 one time. Prices cover decoration. The towel is quoted separately.
A compact logo also tends to keep the stitch count down, so the advice that makes a towel look good usually keeps the price simple too. Once your logo is on file, the setup does not repeat on a reorder.
05Pairing the towel with a polo or hat
A towel works alone, and it works even better as the anchor of a set. For tournaments, it goes in the player gift bag next to a hat. For clients, a towel and a polo in a box feels like a real gift instead of a giveaway.
For outings, the towel usually sits inside a larger order. We put together tournament player and volunteer apparel so the field, the staff and the sponsors all match, and every order gets packed by name so bags are ready at check in.
For client lists, our client gift programs handle the packing and the per person sorting. There are no minimums, so a 12 person client list gets the same care as a 144 player field.
We have written about a company golf tournament really being three apparel orders: players, volunteers and sponsors. The towel fits all three, which is part of why it shows up in so many gift bags.
If the set needs a shirt, our PILLAR polos are built for the course and look right with a matching towel.
06Timing for a December hand out
For logo embroidery on stock towels, the clock is 7 to 10 business days from proof approval. Counting back from a Friday, December 18, 2026 hand out, these are the targets we would plan around:
- Friday, December 18. The hand out at the party, the client lunch or the tournament.
- Friday, December 11. Target for towels in hand, with a week left to pack, wrap or ship.
- About Friday, November 27. Latest proof approval target. Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26, is not counted as a business day.
- Friday, November 20. The target we recommend, so there is room for a proof revision without squeezing the clock.
These are planning targets, not delivery promises. Rush is available upon approval if the calendar gets tight. Running a tournament with apparel on top of towels? Work through our tournament apparel checklist before you send the order.
Fully custom towels woven to spec are a different product on about a 45 day door to door clock. Started today, that lands around mid December at the earliest, too close for a December hand out, so treat a woven towel as next season's program and decorate stock towels for this one. For gifts beyond towels, here is the full December count back for gifts.
07Embroidered golf towel questions
What towel works best for embroidered golf towels with logo?
A towel with a flat, tight surface stitches cleanest. Velour faces and flat woven border bands are great places for a logo. Waffle weave holds embroidery well. Deep terry loops can swallow small detail, so keep the logo bold if you choose terry.
Where should the logo go on a golf towel?
Put it in the corner that faces out when the towel hangs folded from the clip or grommet. That is the side people see on the bag. Keep it compact and bold, because thin type gets lost in the pile.
How much does an embroidered golf towel cost to decorate?
Decoration follows our published per piece embroidery prices, and towels add $1.25 per piece. A new logo has a $35 one time setup, and stitches over 6,000 add $1.00 per 1,000. Your quote confirms which column the towel falls in. The towel itself is quoted separately.
Is there a minimum order for logo golf towels for a golf outing?
No. There are no minimums, so a 12 person client list and a 144 player tournament field are both normal orders for us.
How long does logo embroidery on golf towels take?
Logo embroidery on stock towels runs 7 to 10 business days from proof approval. Fully custom towels woven to spec are about 45 days door to door. For a December 18 hand out, aim to approve the proof by November 20.
Can custom golf towels for tournament gifts be packed by player name?
